Article 1

Regulations Governing Emergency Financial Aid (hereinafter ‘the Regulations) were formulated to provide financial assistance to hard-working students from low-income families who are enrolled in the Department of Journalism and Communication Studies.

Article 2: Source of financial aid
Financial aid is supported by donations made to the Emergency Financial Aid account within the Department
s Development Fund.

Article 3
Students who are currently enrolled in the Department may be provided financial aid if they are facing a family emergency which affects their ability to continue in the program. The amount provided will be determined by the severity of the circumstances. Applications will
be made on the student’s behalf by an adviser or the Director of the Department and will be processed quickly in order to help students in a timely fashion. The Director will convene a meeting of the Scholarship Committee to review the application and determine the amount of aid to be provided. The Committee’s decision will be submitted to the Departmental Affairs Council for record-keeping. The Cashier at the Office of General Affairs will then be requested to remit the financial aid to the student’s Chunghwa Post Office bank account.

Article 4
The Regulations will be promulgated and implemented after approved by the Departmental Affairs Council. The same procedure will be followed for each amendment.
