Methods of Rhetorical Criticism
This course will discuss basic concepts of rhetorical criticism, contemporary developments of rhetorical criticism, and major theories/perspectives of rhetorical criticism. Foreign and local cases will be discussed and analyzed in the class to demonstrate how rhetorical criticism can be applied to public discourse in daily life. The objectives of this course are to develop students’ rhetorical consciousness towards public discourse, and to cultivate students’ abilities of practicing rhetorical criticism.
