- Introduce basic concepts of modern and postmodern society;
- Compare historical paradigms of sociology;
- Examine the relationship between structure and agency;
- Discuss special issues in socializing, social group, education, family, culture, power, work and social movement;
- Explore the impact originating from social class, gender, and ethnicity.
