Article 1
Regulations Governing Advising for Course Registration (hereinafter ‘the
Regulations’) were formulated in accordance with Article 18 of Fu Jen
Catholic University Regulations Governing Course Registration.
Article 2
The core belief that informs advising for course registration and the curriculum framework is that students sit at the center of their education. While instructors provide guidance to students in registering for courses, it is the students themselves who are responsible for their choices.
Article 3
Freshmen will learn about the Department’s educational goals, academic regulations, and the logic behind the curriculum framework during Introduction to University Life. The instructor teaching the course and the Department will invite all full-time instructors to serve as advisers to students during course registration and help students complete their Course Study Plans before the end of their first semester.
Article 4
The Department will provide a student’s academic transcripts and Course Study Plan to their adviser each semester to serve as a guide. Advisers will remind students to satisfy graduation requirements and may keep records on the Adviser Guidance System.
Article 5
Advisers have the following duties:
1. To help plan and confirm a student’s Course Study Plan (which should be
based on the student’s ambitions, interests, career plans, and future
employment or research plans);
2. To calculate course credits;
3. To organize make-up courses or courses missed in the past;
4. To remind students to satisfy graduation requirements;
5. To help resolve problems encountered during course registration.

The Department will register students in required courses and certain preferred electives every semester before the online registration system becomes available. Students must check that they have been registered in the correct courses when the registration system opens. They must add or drop courses based on graduation requirements and in accordance with Regulations Governing Course Registration.
Article 7
Any matters not covered in the Regulations will be handled in accordance with University regulations.
Article 8
The Regulations have been passed by the Academic Affairs Council and will be promulgated and implemented after approval of the President. The same procedure will be followed for each amendment.
The Department will register students in required courses and certain preferred electives every semester before the online registration system becomes available.
